How to get luck: good luck objects #11&12. Money frogs.

In Ancient Egypt the frog was sacred to Ptah, the Beginner, the Creator, most ancient of their gods. Because of the huge numbers of eggs laid by a single frog it was considered to be a symbol of abundance and, naturally, fertility. Observing the extraordinary evolution from tiny specs of eggs through to tadpoles to grown frogs, and considering its long life, it's not surprising that the frog earned the reputation of being a symbol of eternal life. To wear an amulet with a small frog in gold or gilt metal was considered as protection against illness. From Ancient Rome Pliny tells us that wearing a frog charm had the power to win friendship or attract love.

In Ancient China the three legged toad holding a coin in its mouth sitting on a bed of coins and ingots was perhaps the most powerful symbol for enhancing wealth and prosperity. Not a great deal of difference was seen between the toad and the frog, whose spawn was believed to fall from heaven. In feng shui the best position to place your toad or frog is near your front door, inside or outside, in a low position looking at the door as if expecting your wealth to arrive. Or place others inside wherever wealth is expected, your office or study or living room, even in your garden among the plants. You should be able to find three legged toads at New Age shops or Chinese goods stores for a few dollars each.
