How to get luck: 8 good luck objects to create yourself for finding luck

Carry a common garden acorn with you to ensure a long life and to ward off illness. The acorn is said to be a symbol of Immortality, the seed of life which grows into a great tree of long life.

If you need luck in love, business or sport then an amethyst is the stone for you. According to tradition St Valentine wore one constantly and was the preferred gift between lovers.

The agate is a precious stone known to be the bringer of good fortune. In Ancient Rome anyone wearing an agate as a ring would find favour with the gods. In Persia it was considered to bring an inheritance to the owner - and help to reveal hidden treasure. It is especially connected with the soil so if you want to aquire a green thumb then keep a piece of agate with you in the garden. You should find a piece in any New Age shop for a few dollars.

Tie 3 ancient Chinese coins (the kind with a square hole in the middle) with a red thread and keep with your real coins in your purse or wallet for good luck with money. Of course you don't need the originals, any imitation will do. The square in the middle represents the energy of the earth and the outer circle the Chi of Heaven.

Create a luck bag or jar. It's colour should be purple, symbol of Jupiter, planet of good fortune. Inside place these 4 objects: a nutmeg for good health, a rosebud for happiness, a piece of rosemary for protection and a coin for wealth.

To attract luck into the home display a vase of yellow chrysanthemuns in a long vase or urn. They represent good luck in love, success, commitments, anything you expect to be everlasting.

In the ancient Chinese art of feng shui the goldfish is the favourite symbol of wealth luck. The two words that make up the word 'goldfish' also mean gold and abundance. So to have a goldfish bowl in your home is considered to bring good luck and abundance. Goldfish are best because they are, well, gold. Ideally have nine altogether, eight gold (Yang) and one completely black (Yin) fish.

Another plant commonly associated with good fortune and wealth is the Money Plant or Jade. Place a potted specimen near the entrance of your home or office.
